A word from the developer:

This has been the game I've been working on "on and off" for the last four months. I would personally like to thank everyone who has helped me or contributed to the game in some way;

Thank you!

I understand there may be a few glitches, but I am afraid I am not as experienced enough to make a game with no imperfections. However, I did try my hardest to eradicate any bugs in the game play.

I hope you enjoy the game and once again thank you to anyone that contributed!

Well done! Suggestions:
-I think Boxy could use a little more effort on the graphics. He looks a little rigid.
-The toggling of mute/unmute is a little odd. I think you should make it just one button.
-On one of the early levels, when you press the down arrow, even if you're not on a switch, it makes a sound.
-Make more levels! I think this would be even better with fifty levels!

That's all for now. I'll let you know if I know anything else :)

I understand what you meant with the mute/unmute.
I found it very difficult to get a one-button mute system, and remember, this is my first MMF2 game. xD

In the earlier level, with the button issue, I already know what that is about. Just a bit of faulty programming I will fix up in the next patch.

Fifty levels? This project took me 4 months alone, and it's very difficult to think of new ideas for levels... :P

I really appreciate the feedback and I will hopefully make a new patch soon.

Thanks! :D

With level design, the best way to get ideas is to add new features.

Perhaps on some levels you could have lasers that move along a path, if you turn on a switch, a block appears that gets in the way of the laser, allowing you to pass through. You could also allow the laser to destroy a certain type of block... so if you open up the path of the laser with switches, it will destroy the blocks at the end and allow you to pass through.

The other suggestion I have is to increase the movement speed a little bit. I feel like it's a little slow and makes me bored while I wait to get my character where he needs to go. I know this will change the balance of some levels (speed will increase jumping distance, and some levels are designed to not allow the player to reach a certain point with a standard jump) but I think the change will make it a little more fast-paced and exciting.

I rated it 6 in its current state, but i think it has a lot of potential, with a bit of polish it could easily be an 8 or above.

Only a six? :(

Well, yes, I did want it to be a casual gamer, so I didn't want to make it too fast-paced.

But I do agree with your idea with the laser, I hadn't thought about that. :D

I will either try to elaborate and expand this game more, or I will make a sequel. Thank you for you feedback!

Well, a few bugs as mentioned, but overall pretty fun.

*The button sound plays whenever you press down, regardless of being over a button in the first few levels.
*There were several times I slid/floated through or past blocks.

Other than those minor issues, I think that ryanachronism's ideas for lasers and faster player speed would be very cool. Very cool game. :)

Thanks! I already know about the bug with the button sound, I'm fixing it in the next patch. xD

edit: I have fixed it on the .MFA but I haven't uploaded it again yet.

LAZERS!!!

*hides*

All right, first of all, the player I feel needs to be faster. His sluggish speed is acceptable in the more puzzlish levels, but as the focus shifts to more actiony levels towards the end, it becomes very hard. While you edit the speed, you may want to fix the platform engine. It has a few bugs, although nothing game-breaking, so that isn't really a complaint.

This may also not be a complaint but the puzzles felt too starightforward and felt like almost the same. In most of them, you just have to hit all the switches, sometimes in a particular order. The laser idea is good. I also enjoyed the art style, but since the music restarts every time you restart a level, it eventually got annoying and I shut it off.

I'm not going to rate it because I couldn't get past the last level.

I can give you a walkthrough, if you want. :D

Walkthrough

  1. Press the red button and jump on the moving block.
  2. Once you start moving, get on the bouncy block and bounce over the green stacked blocks.
  3. Land back on the moving block, and when you're about three blocks width away from the electricity blocks, walk forward off the block, thereby landing in front of it on the orange blocks.
  4. Jump up onto the single yellow block, jump backwards onto the moving block, then jump up onto the purple block.
  5. Press the dark green switch to remove the blocks in front of you.
  6. Without stopping, jump across the dark orange pillars onto the purple blocks, press the electricity switch and fall down the gap between the brown blocks and the purple ones.
  7. Once you fall past the moving red block, (which you should only narrowly escape by) walk across the electricity bricks, press the yellow button, then walk all the way back to the finish block.

If I can rate my own game, I'm going to give it an eight.
I understand that there are mistakes, I'm fixing them and I'm already on the way to improving it. But I do think it deserves a more, (even if it is only a bit) than a six.

I hope this is okay, but no-one else has rated, so I have to take some matters into my own hands. /bloxy - BoxWorks' Emoticon

Thank you!

Very Nice :D
This idea kida reminds me of the game Mario VS DK on the gameboy\DS
(hey maybe you could add some enemies that move around and mess the switches up on you xD )
I do however agree with all the above mentioned comments.
Mostly the speed of the character.......Faster!!!

One thing I would suggest. Make the music carry over into each frame after every level. Instead of restarting the music. Then it would be as annoying :P. Also, a fun idea would be to make toggle switches, and maybe some timed buttons, just to add to the game play a bit. Fun game all-in-all :)

How would I make the music carry over? I'm new to this. /bloxy - BoxWorks' Emoticon
