Good Luck everyone!

I will be helping to judge the games!
So what type of games does Jeff like......

Platform games -- I really love them but they got to be interesting

Word or puzzle games -- Always fun and interesting

Clone game of a classic arcade game -- Always a big hit

Action games -- Just be sure to bring something new and interesting to the table

The main word of advice I have for contestants is --
Think professionalism.
Examples: Have a nice title/splash screen
Does your game need some instructions to play?

Sounds -- Think about it -- The right sounds and music can do wonders for a game ... and the wrong sounds can also! Choose carefully!

Game Play is the key
Even if you can't draw your way out of a paper bag -- Good game play will take a game very very far! Stick man adventures in stick land could be the winning game! All using stick figures and lines.
Its all depends -- is the game fun and do the graphics in the game not detract from the fun!

Good luck all!

It was an amazing competition, I will try to enter again! Thanks to Clickteam and GameBuilder for announcing it! Smiling

Who are the other judges? They should post something like Jeff did Eye-wink

Rockdude's picture

If I make a group does the group name it self count?

Ex.

1. (Group Name) <-------This one
2.Collision with...

So that would count as two?

KetchupMaster's picture

Nope.

Rule #3 says: Comments and group headers do not count toward event line limit

Rockdude's picture

Okay thanks. Also is it okay if I have a one level demo of the game? I am limited on how big my levels are, so I can't put too much. After creating a short amount of the first level, I found out that my game started to lag!

I think I will be entering this competition. Big Smile

I am a little worried that some of the features that are supported in MMF by default are not supported in the java (and maybe the flash) runtime. Somebody said that rotation isn't supported in java? I hope there are no more built in features that are unsupported in the java runtime Puzzled

I have my game engine complete and working on finishing the graphics.
where do i post the game when it is finished?

KetchupMaster's picture

There will be a submission page added to the site soon. Hopefully I will get it up today.

There's a good selection of games in the list, but I believe both Blasting Agent and The Company of Myself deserve to be higher in this list.

sambrees's picture

Cheers to the author for giving me some solid ideas

About a month to go, so plenty of moment to come up with a 20 event or less game and enter the contest!

alexa's picture

You can read their full rules- its something like 20 events per frame for up to 4 frames, with up to 4 conditions per event. I will be attempting something quite daring, and if I get it done in 20 events in will be a miracle.

Almost done Smiling

My entry is finished. Smiling

Is it possible to change the Deadline for Entries in 20 Event game Creation to 1st March? In Poland there is winter break at 15 febuary, so I'm now absorbed at school, I have to learn very much, so I can't finish my game.

:<

KetchupMaster's picture

Sorry Aleks Sad, we won't be giving any extensions on the deadline, beyond a few hours if it is needed. We've had the deadline set for almost 2 months now, it wouldn't really be fair to everyone else to change it now.

LB's picture

I have MMF2 Dev... I have more than $369... I have a Camera... I have an MP3 Player... I have a Website... hmmm, I don't seem to have any 'Clickteam Hats', maybe I will... wait um.... *writes "Clickteam" on a few hats* OK I see no point to enter this competition Sticking out tongue

KetchupMaster's picture

lol...just because you have more than $369, doesn't mean you can't get more.

Mecha the Slag's picture

I just submitted my entry Big Smile

KetchupMaster's picture

Big Smile glad to see so many entries...i can't wait to begin playing them

Mecha the Slag's picture

Can a staff member confirm that my entry was succesfully submitted? I had some issues with it and I think it was alright, but I'd like to make sure since I wont be around today or tomorrow to correct it if it did go wrong :s

KetchupMaster's picture

Yep, you submitted it perfectly Smiling

Mecha the Slag's picture

Cheers!

Mecha the Slag's picture

Quick question (again Big Smile!): how do I access my entry after submission so I can edit the description?

KetchupMaster's picture

go the games page and if you are logged in you should see your entry listed there. Click on it and there will be an edit button at the top

RickyRombo's picture

Can we submit but keep editing until the deadline?

KetchupMaster's picture

yes, there is an edit button for now that you can use as much as you want. It will disappear after the deadline.
