I suggest that this site acts as more of a showcase for decent games. I'm not saying that the games on here are rubbish, but good games need to be rewarded more. Open up a reviewing section which rewards reviewers heavily. Click Island used to have a reviewing section and it added a bit to the site, but nobody wanted to review. Not even Nerdboy! (Not that you'd know him, but he spammed the site up with hundreds of posts every day). I suggest that releasing games and reviews gives more than 4 points. It's sad but people come on this site for points and you might as well reward game making a bit more, seeing as it's a game making site.

An idea which would really set this site apart would be a weekly 'magazine'. Okay, that would just be silly- but just an article which covers all of the advancements. Possibly an account is set up on this site for people to PM news of their latest games etc to, and somebody compiles all of the information into one single piece. Not sure how long you'd be able to keep it up for but it could make a big difference to this site's popularity.

You know what makes Daily Click a bit... rubbish? Everybody uses the forums, very few people make games. Those who do make games only get their games downloaded and rated if they're known in the forums. I don't think you can avoid that happening to a mature site, but with this one it's a good idea to start encouraging game development more- you don't want it to turn into a forum.

I'm lightly intoxicated so I might not make much sense but hopefully most of the points are legible.

I totally agree with this. I have this vision of everyone coming together to discuss games and rate them, and people creating nice examples and widgets for MMF and tilesets too, so people can start making games by dropping these pre-made parts into their projects. A really nice community where everyone is willing to help each other and supporting each other's projects. A community where you can post sprites and games and stories and get proper constructive critisism :)

I think we should each think up a topic that we have just done a lot of work on like some pixel art or an engine and post a mini tutorial here! I think that would be a cool idea 8)

OR we could all club together and make the best game ever! hohoho

No it's probably not a good idea, what with everybody having their own ideas as to what a perfect game is.

games give 4 points and a forum post gives 1? that should be changed...

How about forum post gives 1 and then a game gives like 50 or even 100! And maybe another 50 if its given some kind of award for being a really pro game.

Then reviews and tutorial posts and stuff should be at least 10 or 20. Whatever it is, it should be considerably higher than a single forum post.

Yeah, I agree. At first I would have disagreed with you but then I thought about it. Some tutorials are massivly long.

yeah i mean look, i already have done the equivalent of a game and a half! and you've done.. 49! games, well done.

actually.. is there any way to make it so a person who submits a game is awarded amount of points equal to its rating multiplied by a number e.g 10.. like if people rate it 3 star it gets 30 points. If it is rated 10 stars it gets 100 points... although that would mean peoples points would fluctuate when more people rate the game :P

Or for every rating 5 or under you get 0 points, 6-8 gets you one and 9-10 gets you 2. So the more people who positively vote on your game, the more points you get.

If you use GameBuilder throughout the entire process of creating your game, you will earn a lot more than 4 points for it. If you create a project development blog you will earn 2 points for each entry you submit. This means if you spend two months making a game and you add a blog entry 3 times a week, you will end up earning 52 points for your game!

yeah 52 points.. for making a whole game and blogging about it 3! times a week. That is obviously worth more than 52 forum posts imo.
