Fun-O-Shoot

This is really not my style, buuuuuut here you go!

Please don't hurt me! I have no idea where this game came from. I just woke up one morning and it was on my computer! I promise!

I put this game together in about 2-3 hours. All you have to do is shoot as close to the center of the targets as you can. If you miss you lose. If you run out of time you lose.

Try to shoot as many targets as you can in the amount of time given.

And Remember to have OOOOOh So Much FUN!!!!!!!

Scores are here: http://jsoftgames.com/scores.php?game=FunOShoot&num=10

The game doesn't appear to be showing up in the correct size here. You can play it better at my site: http://jsoftgames.com/arcade.php?subaction=showfull&id=1257652324&archive=&start_from=&ucat=5&

Fun little game. I don't think there was a need for the rounds though.

UrbanMonk's picture

The rounds are like little commas separating the frantic action into segments. It also gives the player a feeling of progression.

Yes that makes sence. Then You should have made the rounds a little longer.

It starts out a little slow, because you only hit a couple at a time...

UrbanMonk's picture

Yeah, I was thinking of changing the way the game works. Timing each round the same instead of all the rounds at once.

Rockdude!!! How did you get that score? I should have added some sort of slowdown detector. Cause I have a feeling that's what you did.

How would you detect slowdown, "If user is using Vista..." ?

UrbanMonk's picture

No, I'd monitor the fps. And then I'd also have the game send a message to the server that lets it know the game is starting, and then when the score comes in check to see if they actually played within the time frame.

:P Too much work for this simple game though.

Or you could use the every event or such and have a real timer that doesn't depend on frame rates ;)

UrbanMonk's picture

:D I knew that!

Acctually I took my time and got tons of bulls eyes. I had OOOOOh So Much FUN!!!!!!! xD

Yay a new highest score! :D

Uhh... My highest score keeps getting deleted. I beat your score of 10067 just the other day.

UrbanMonk's picture

I added a new abuse system. If your score isn't submitting it's because the game is running too slowly on your computer.

RickyRombo's picture

well that doesn't seem fair :(

KetchupMaster's picture

that seems very fair...if the game is running slow on your computer then it's easier to get a higher score

No no. My score was there the other day. The game is not running slow at all.

Every time I submit a score it gets rejected!

UrbanMonk's picture

Hmm that's odd. It's working for me.
The code works by checking how long it takes for the timer to count down. If it's taking too long it simply discards the score on the server.

Try playing it on a faster computer and see if you still have the problem.
It's mostly my fault though for not making a timer based on the system clock. I'm just too lazy. :D

No KetchupMaster, I don't think its fair that if your computer is slow then you can't get a high score. I think UrbanMonk should make the timer better >.>

UrbanMonk's picture

Hmm perhaps I should take up a vote. ;)

I'm sorry, it would just be a pain to implement a real timer because the game is so simple. I'll do it when I get out for the semester Rockdude.

Sorry about the trouble.

No problem. I see how it would be pointless to put a real timer. It's still a great game though. :)

Thanks! :)
