IceBall Downloadable

Created By:

IceBall is a very challenging puzzle game (or so I've heard). It's just like that part of the Pokemon games where you slide on ice ( pikachu )

You get bonus points each round for how fast you finish, and it CAN go negative if you don't finish fast enough! :) I'm not sure if it does anymore - I never go that slow - but I think I fixed it!

Good luck! There are only 15 levels at this point, but I think it should be plenty

UPDATED:

No more snowball uploads, but now the game is beatable. And hopefully I'll update with a "Skip" function soon.

NEW UPDATE:

Totally redone with music and sounds! :D

and (drumroll please)....

ONLINE SAVING!

Can't beat it all in one sitting? Save your game! If you want to access it later but aren't at your computer, who cares? Just log in and you're good to go!

Oh, and it actually is beatable now :)

Although with these big changes I am not yet ready to release it to be sold on any flash site - for some reason the online saving is buggy in flash. And, I think I might want to resecure the database as well as update graphics before I'm ready.

scores dont submit on java, and i cant play vitalize.

also you might wanna make it more clear as to how you submit the scores. i was playing and it never ended. when time ran out nothing happened. so i was baffled as to how you get your score submitted. apparently you have to click the snowball at the title screen.

a better way in structure and gameplay would be to have it automatically go to the submit page when time runs out. so theres a way to lose. or at least have a button in game to "submit". the way it is its too convoluted to figure out how to even submit.

good job though. i love puzzles. a little more production value would make this a great game. some of the puzzles need fixing too. if you make a wrong move, theres no way to solve the puzzle.

a) You need to finish the puzzles to get your score submitted, I forgot to remove the Snowball thing from the main menu - it was a debugging tool to test the highscores

b) Time is the score, and since most people don't finish in the time, it doesn't end when it runs out. That way people can play without worrying about losing.

c) That's what the "Reset" button's for ;)

I had no idea that the Highscores weren't working for the online versions, but it may be because you didn't finish the game?

Thanks for the feedback.

Btw I updated last minute last night to not allow the score to go negative

makes sense. but what if i cant solve a puzzle? and just want to submit my score. it would be nice if where you have all those options "reset" "pause" etc if you added a submit score one as well.

btw how many puzzle sets are there? i never finished them. i just submitted my score with the snowball when i couldnt solve any more.

I do believe that Level 7 is impossible =/
Please look into this...

EDIT: and for some reason scoring is acting really weird. My first score was like 72k, and I stalled a little on it. My other 2 scores were 65 k about, and I went through as fast as I could until I got to level 7.

It's a good game, but a bit hard. Some of the easier ones were enjoyable, but levels like 2 and 7 are just crazily insane. Without a skip feature, the player might get frustrated and throw his computer at the wall.

Graphics were meh, gameplay was good. The engine worked nicely, so I can't criticize you on the engine just because your levels are lethally hard.

The main reason I give you some stars is because I can't imagine creating these levels =P I have no idea how you can come up with these xD

It's a nice game, but why isn't there any music or sound effects? and why do I have to input my name over and over each time I click 'learn' or select the 'quit' option?

RickyRombo's picture

a) because it was a Christmas present it had all Christmas music, and I had an hour to get it to be non-secular and wasn't able to find better music and sounds.

b) good question! I should change that

anti there are 15, and I was going to create a skip option that would subtract a minute from your gained score but ran out of time. I'll do it as soon as the contest is over, so as not to be accused of cheating.

wow i think this game is great!

Thanks :)

Very fun game, but it could use some sounds. :P

Very true stephen :)

I should add those in later. I had to take out the nonsecular ones and I ran out of time to replace them. Darn my procrastination!

It would have been nice to keep a consistent "theme" on the graphics. I liked the ball and the trees, but the sun and the black lines look like they could do with some work. The Lines could be changed into fences, (in the "RPG" style look that the trees had) and the sun could have some nice graphics too.

The game play was fun, but if you made a wrong move you had to start all over again. And some sounds would be nice, but I wouldn't mind too much about that if I were you. :D

I hope to see more games from you!

Thanks! Haha I'm not the best graphics artist :B

The good looking graphics you mentioned were in the library packs (except for the ball :D I take pride in that one) and everything else was me (cept the snow). I tried to draw fences, but it failed. (Wow that sounded like Pokemon O.o pikachu )

I've got a graphics artist now, too, so expect some changes soon!!
