Well, it's been about a year sience I've submitted my first game, a metroidvania action sidescroller called An Insect's Adventure. It was about a little bug named Bugsey who has a giant hammer and got lost in an enormous cavern full of spiders, and you had to collect powerups and climb to the top of the cavern to go back home and beat the game.
When I look at that game now, I feel extremely unsatisfied, mostly due to the extremely sloppy graphics, SFX and engine. I knew I could've done better but I submitted it anyway, blinded by the feeling of false success and sheer boredom. It then got an even sloppier sequal where Bugsey tries to destroy an alien inside a meteor that's trying to consume the planet.
Anyway, near the end of last summer, I decided to begin remaking the first Insect Adventure and combine it with the second one, but with much better graphics and sound. That's this game here. It also introduces many more things, like wall jumping, health expansions, cutscenes, as well as Bugsey's friend Nobody, who is a chubby blonde robot girl with an enormous hairdo. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to play a side-scroller that tries something different every once in a while, and feedback is always recommended too.

Cool! I'll have to play it later.
Very, very nice game. I don't have much to say about it, but I remember the first Insect's Adventure, and it has come a long way.
Very good graphics.
Now there was a lot I liked about the game, but I didn't like attacking. It seemed like you couldn't "sneak up" behind a bug and attack it to death without it attacking you.
Also *BUG ALERT* (no pun intended):
Not sure if it's acutally a bug or not, but I lied, that pun was intentional. When I got to the first "boss", that big beetle thing to the left of where you fall, my health was practically nothing. I died, of course, and when I did a retry, my health was still near nothing. And so I was stuck at the bottom of a cave, near death, with nothing to do but die or restart, and you know that gamers are impatient, so I didn't really want to restart.
Thanks for the comment and the rating, until I got up to the bug report, my face was like
.
Right now I'm working on a patch that'll fix some glitches and make the game a little easier. One of my friends who tested the game also said the first boss was too hard
. It'll be posted on a link from this page. I was also thinking about making another patch that lets you play as someone else...
Lol. It's still a very good game, I am impressed by the graphics!
It's almost there... a few little tweaks would make this an amazing game.
I've added an update just for Christmas!
All known glitches are removed
Made attacking enemies easier- you shouldn't get hurt as much
Some enemies have less health
Added a save point near the first boss
Edited some of the graphics
Added some more SFX
FOR ALL OF THOSE WHO'VE DOWNLOADED THE GAME BEFORE THIS POST:
This is really embarassing to me, but when I was bug testing, I turned on all the items as a last check before uploading, but when I released it here, I had forgotten to reset all the item states to 0. This is why you can double jump, hover, ect. at the very beginning. However, I have fixed it, so now you can play it as intended.
nice game nothing wrong soo... 10/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
