Okay, I have this idea to create a platform game level to demonstrate what is possible with MMF2. So this includes the player's movement itself, special effects, enemy AI etc.

I can comment and group the code nicely and show you guys it here open source so we can all learn from it :)

The questions I want to put to you guys are:

  • What do you guys think of this idea?
  • What would you like to see in the engine?

Realistic, filtering light.. like if something passes in front of a light beam, the light behind the object is cut away :)

Love the idea, especially think that a good commented platform AI would be much appreciated by everyone.

Will make Halo 3 montages for food...

I like the idea about the light beams.

AI is always interesting to watch, especially if they jump from platform to platform. Ragdoll physics would be great too. Ben Mercer managed to do a pretty good system. I don't understand it, though.

I like water physics too (waves, splashes etc)

I did think about light beams actually! Would look pretty cool :D

I was going to use very small sprites initially, wouldn't be too useful for ragdoll physics so I may have to think about that!

Keep the suggestions coming!

Realistic AI would be good.

I want to show off what MMF can do but keeping it simple to understand the code; so I'm making use of the PMO object for a platform movement and if I am going to add physics for example I may decided to use the chipmunk physics object.

Have it so the AI picks up rubble from stuff you've broken and can throw it at your or hit you with it... :)

Any updates as to the progress of this project?

I may be making a platform tech demo as well. Competition always moves technology on.
