Unity Now Free

The web and multiplatform development tool "Unity" is now available for free download!

Unity has hit version 2.6 and has made a free version "for personal and commercial use" available for download.

if you've ever played any of the games over at BLURST! like offroad velociraptor safari, jetpack brontosaurus, minotaur chinashop, and their last game time donkey, you'll know exactly the kind of things that can be done in unity.

Too much to learn. Õ___Õ I wish someone could just show me how to use it, because I don't want to sit through PDF's and slow-loading quicktime videos. >_>

The tutorial files are actually very in-depth. I'm working through both the 3D platformer and the FPS tutorial. The only thing it does not show is scripting and that's something that obviously should be learned on your own.

PDF's are so much better printed out. Invest the money in ink and paper, it's not that expensive (although I can't afford it so I'll stick with reading from the computer).

The only issue I have with this is occasionally it causes my comp to crash, but other than that it's very impressive and simple to use.

Anyone by any chance check out the Unity Web Player?
