Gosh this is hard to decide, I love them all (besides Beyblade, I could care less about that... and Barbies? no...)
I'm a lego freak, I made some beastly Hotwheels tracks, my Pokemon card decks pwn, I used to make kids cry in lightsaber duels, my Farm animal playset was as fun as... stuff...
LEGO brick was shortened to LEGO, then used as Lego, and now, since Lego was singular, that makes it grammatically correct to use Legos in the slang language, since Lego itself isn't actually a noun yet is referred to as a noun. "Legos" has actually been used by LEGO in the past, but now they refrain from it.
What I really don't get is why it matters. Everyone knows what you're talking about, and typing out "LEGO sets" is like typing out Apple Macintosh Personal Computer. Silly to fret over. We must not be allowed to call bandages band-aids either, I guess. Or a box of Coca-colas "a box full of cokes."
I still love Legos. Though I don't play with them much anymore.
i also had the roller coaster. and i had the intermediate box set. the orange case. i made an entire carnival on my bedroom floor lol. rollercoaster, swings, ferriswheel, boat swing, walkways, people, etc.
@OMC We don't really shorten Coca~Cola. They copyrighted the term Coke for their drink years ago, so it's an official title.
There were these kNex like things I saw that were remote controlled and you could build and adapt to them to perform tasks. I can't remember what they were called.
Sheep? Moose? Fish? Deer? Series? Species? I probably wouldn't say, "Let's go play with the LEGO."
I remember BRIO too. I always had the off-brand though because all BRIO (feel like I'm yelling) toys were expensive. There's a case where we don't tend to say brios. I guess because they didn't become as popular?
LEGO is a brand and should only be used as such to name the brand. you do not play with 'LEGO' or 'LEGOs', rather you play with LEGO bricks or LEGO pieces. LEGO is an adjective when describing what you are playing with and a Proper noun to name the company that produces the LEGO toy pieces.
LEGO is the brand brand and we aren't supposed to use brand names as nouns unless talking about the company. For example, we are not supposed to say "kleenex" but rather "tissue". So it's wrong to say lego unless using it as an adjective for instance, LEGO bricks. But "LEGO bricks" takes to long too say, say you combine the two words and shorten it to "Legos". "LEGO" alone has no letters from the second word so we are left to assume that you are talking about the company.

UGH I can't decide...
Thanks to RickyRombo for the poll idea.
lol it's been in my head for a while...
I won't lego of my Lego!

KetchupMaster it's Lego not Legos. I don't quite get why 90% of Americans got it into their heads that it's ever been Legos.

I'm a huge Lego Star Wars collector. My whole room is about covered in it all.
I also make stop-motion movies on YouTube.
Perhaps the American LEGO used "Legos". But then you have to remember LEGO is a Danish company, and it's always been LEGO.
RR is not arguing about the company name, which in fact is LEGO. The toys themselves are called "lego pieces" or "lego bricks".
What I really don't get is why it matters.

OMC, arguing is fun, and the more pointless the topic, the better.
I see.
"OMC, arguing is fun, and the more pointless the topic, the better."
That's so true.

And it isn't a box of cokes. It's a case of coke. Get it right @_@
Yea, I realized I have never actually said "cokes."
I meant to point out that we shorten coca-cola.
wheres K'nex you toy racist!
I actually played with K'nex the most. I had the rollercoaster it was awesome. Have you seen it nowadays? It's more like Lego ;_; They ruined it
I had the K'nex roller coaster too! It was so huge, it filled my entire room.
I actually had one recently.
Never played with K'nex as a little one, but mum picked it up just for fun.
I have the roller coaster
i also had the roller coaster. and i had the intermediate box set. the orange case. i made an entire carnival on my bedroom floor lol. rollercoaster, swings, ferriswheel, boat swing, walkways, people, etc.

I also forgot Jenga Blocks
I used to make sweet towers out of those...
LEGO is both singular and plural. Just like ... That one word> I know there is an example but I don't have it.
Sheep? Moose? Fish? Deer? Series? Species? I probably wouldn't say, "Let's go play with the LEGO."

I work for LEGO.
I am playing with LEGO Bricks.
Nope. You can say you're playing with LEGO, too.
I think it doesn't really matter. It's not like it's causing any misunderstanding.

you can't say LEGO to refer to the bricks unless using it as an adjective.

I'll say whatever I want.
Has anyone else tired of this conversation?

Ricky you're one to preach about grammatical correctness, LOL.
LOL very true. I forfeit
"i also had the roller coaster. and i had the intermediate box set. the orange case. i made an entire carnival on my bedroom floor lol. rollercoaster, swings, ferriswheel, boat swing, walkways, people, etc."
Your bedroom is exactly like mine.
maybe we're the same person!
