I'm interested in this thread because apparently my games always slow down people's computers. I guess they're all on 500 mhz celerons or something.
Does anyone know of a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 range graphics card (up to £100) for notebooks that support Direct X10 3D (with 320MB+ RAM)?
recently GPUs on notebooks have become rubbish. They all have freeze faults, as my friend's new GPU showed. I would wait for the new ATI ones to come out as they've made some progress with efficiency and speed recently.
I don't understand though, are you going to buy the graphics card then place it into your notebook? I don't think it'll work.
*Asus A8N mobo with broken chipset cooler with an old AMD 40mm fan blue-taced in place above it, wedged between a graphics and sound card.
*3x512mb PC3200 RAM with at least 2 working at the same time
*AMD X2 3800+
*Geforce 8800GTS (taken from my brothers PC, but he wont mind cos his PC doesnt work and hes in China)
*Soundblaster X-Fi
*40GB Western Digital IDE hard drive from 2001 stupidly being used as my system drive.
*200GB Maxtor drive
*500GB Samsung Spinpoint
Coolermaster centurion case with 6 by 5 inch square hole in the front.
various other bits and pieces including fans taken from my OTHER brothers PC and an A2 leather folder taken from my old school which makes for an AMAZING mouse mat. (i didnt steal it. they just gave it to me and i forgot to give it back
)
Ok thanks!
