I've been making games for a while now, but the platform movement and other extensions Iv'e found are just not good enough any more. I've been looking at custom platform coding, but I have no idea what's going on in the coding. Could anyone help or explain this?

Do you mean DavidN's tutorial?
Look on the tutorial pages on Clickteam if you don't. He has a very good Fastloop Platform Movement Tutorial that should help you out.

Otherwise, check out the examples folder for the PMO
