I need help for my new game.
This may sound n00bish, but I really need to know this; how can I save and load levels/chapters even after the application has been closed?
I know that in "The Bat Sweeper" you were able to exit the game and come back to continue from where you were up to last time.
Can anyone help me?
*Note: Being thorough would be very helpful!
Thanks!
i was reading this and is there any restrictions for example when saving what about user privilege.
i havent incorp a saving or loading feature yet.
i was thinking of having a frame with screenshots of the levels and a status displaying score/ coins / experience / aquired skills and secrets found.
could i use the save frame position method to do this?
Theoretically, but I would recommend in your scenario use of the ini object or an array object. There are some good tutorials on the clickteam website for both these objects in MMF2
what is a more complicated way? How do you get it to work without having to open it up and save an extra file every time?
This may not be helpfull but, try passwords.
There are better ways, but here's a real easy one: Under the Stroyboard object, Save Frame Position should appear as an option. Later, when the user tries to load the game: Load Application position. It's that easy! Make sure to store both files in the same place!
