Hey guys! I'm posting this here because the clickteam forum is currently down and because I hope to have the problem solved quick here :)

As I said, it has to do with Multimedia Fusion 2.

No matter how often I create a new program and try to import new sound files, they aren't played.
Normally, when the window opens to import a sound file, under file type there is "sample files" with two brackets in which "wav, ogg, ..." should stand.
But suddenly there is nothing in the brackets anymore.
I recognized it when testing out a program I had created weeks ago and saw that no sound was playing.
Yes, I checked the file paths, the sound files are intact and still where they were but no sound is played.
After importing music (only MIDI files) and testing you could hear all the MIDI-songs but just not the sounds that have a file type of wav or so.

Reinstalling MMF2 didn't change anything, still nothing in brackets and the "preview-button" to preview the sound files doesn't work.
When installing the program on an other computer it worked properly and I COULD use sound files that were played normally but just not on MY notebook :(

I know, it sounds a bit confusing but, resuming it all, no sound is played in MMF2 and reinstalling changes nothing.

I would be endlessly glad if anyone could help me :)

Thanx in advance!

When does sound not play? Can you not select the samples?

Did you update MMF2? What version are you using?

I currently have a similar problem. However, mine is minor because I can play sounds in the file selection (the little "Play"/"Stop" button) and the sounds work in the game after building. It is annoying though that they don't work within the edittime testing.

Is this the same problem you have? To find out, I suppose you should build an Application and see if sounds work in it (if you can).

Hey, thanx for the answer :)
My problem is unfortionately much more difficult:
Sounds aren't even played when pressing the little "play" button to preview them. Also when building the application there is no sound in it.

Music works but no sounds, as I said, the brackets after the file type are empty. Why the hell is this so and why does this happen so suddenly?

thank you

PS: I have version 2.0, build 239,(when trying to upgrade it says it can't recognize my program version)

how are you upgrading? directly from inside mmf2? or are you downloading the update from the clickteam site?

i'm assuming the former. if so, you need to download and apply the newest update directly from the clickteam site. your version is really REALLY old.

not accusing you of anything, but usually when upgrades don't work it's because you're using a pirated copy of mmf2. If that is the case, you should consider buying the real program.

Can you hear the sound files from a separate media player? I remember having a problem like this once, and it turned out that the volume for WAV. sounds and the like was turned down to 0.

Well, first of all, I admit that I got this copy from a friend and because I'm using the UnrealEditor simultaniously I haven't ordered a copy yet.
A year ago, when I first heard about MMF2 I wanted to buy it but at first I was a bit deterred by the (relatively high) price and additionally, due to my home in germany, I needed to use a credit transfer and couldn't buy it in the store.
So, that's why I, until now, have been using the copy by a friend of mine ;)

Yeah, I can listen to the sounds (of different lengths) in other programs like the media player without any problems.
And I wonder if updating the program would cause any fix to this problem :-/

Thanx anyway :)

So is there any way you could help me out of that weird problem?
Thank you!

lol, I think that's too compicated and doesn't guarantee any compability with my previous saved projects from MMF2.

But the question is: What is a solution to the actual problem if reinstalling doesn't help anything?

What? Of course you'd have complete compatibility :)
