I truly hate these wierd classic arcade games
i like the idea but i have a few suggestions for improvements... 1, there should be coloured buttons (z,x,c) somewhere on the screen so you know what fires what and you don't have to remember, and 2, i think it gets a bit too hard a bit too fast.
**Updated**
The game should be a tad bit easier. Be sure to check out the Hi Score version. That is the one that keeps getting updated.
Thank you for the suggestion Dave_C. I am almost done toning down the difficulty and adding a few things. I had a feeling that it ramped up too fast.
I will incorporate the colored buttons for sure. Take a gander at the High Score version in a bit. I will update it soon.
The Idea is awesome! But I must agree on about the color thing. You should've included something that would show which key is which color. Oh and you should try mint brick's game...
Cool, thanks for the comment NeosoftFusion. The high score version uploaded now has the three keys situated under the reticule since it will be the main point of focus when aiming generally.
By the way I tried mint brick's game...
Gameplay – 16/20 - Very interesting concept with different weapons for different enemies.
General Professionalism – 8/10 - Game is very well designed, and game is also coded quite good.
Appropriate Graphics to the Game - 4/5 - Very good GFX.
Appropriate Music and Sounds – 4/5 - Like above.
5 POINT BONUS Event: 5/5 - Very well commented.
5 POINT BONUS Flash/Java: 5/5 - Compatible with Java app and applet.
Total 42/50 = 84% = 8*
That's the best score I've seen so far from Fano, I'd better check this out later
Thanks for the review Fanotherpg. It is scary in a way but also quite good to see my hard work put under the scope and be judged.
RickyRombo, if you want you can check out the high score version which is up to date and toned down compared to the .mfa version here. However, please do check out the .mfa version if you like and fiddle around with it.
I might be able to update the .mfa version after the competition scoring is over. With the modifications and additions made to the high score version, it still falls under the 20 event category.
HOLY CRAP, I just passed the 1,000,000 point mark on my last attempt on the high score version.
With that I can say that the game should be much more playable now than the uploaded .mfa version.
Come on people don't be shy and give it a gander
Tips:
1. Try and max out your point multiplier to 99 before the difficulty ramps up. Maintain it as high as possible even if you have to use a Nova Blast.
2. If you feel overwhelmed at times, don't panic. Nova Blast "Spacebar" can generally clear the screen if an enemy is hit close to the planet when the screen is full.
3. Practice
